ROTC & JROTC Awards Presenter Thank You

Enter your 2016 Awards Presentations

Once again the chapter members came through and did our chapter proud.  17 different members who volunteered to present at 26 different events giving out a total of 28 MOAA Medals, 24 Outstanding Cadet awards and $1,150.  Bravo Zulu!

Awards presented:

ROTC units – MOAA Medal & Certificate

JROTC units – MOAA Medal & Certificate and Outstanding Cadet Awards Certificate and $50

Civil Air Patrol–Outstanding Cadet Award, Certificate only

(The sea cadets did not have a suitable candidate)

Our chapter is one of the very few organizations to have a personal presenter at every awards ceremony.  This is important because it shows the cadets (and the staffs) that we consider them an important and integral part of our focus.

Our thanks go to…

Nick Anderson            Cross & Stratford High

Beverly Brockman      Woodland High

Ernie Brockman          The Citadel (4 units) & Lake Marion & Stall High

Rudy Smart                 Charleston Southern University & Civil Air Patrol

Denis Tsuaklas            Ashley Ridge & Summerville High

Bill Whatley               Baptist Hill High, Military Magnet Academy, St Johns & Wando High

A special thanks to those who ‘walked the extra mile’ by submitting an article and/or photos about the awards ceremony that can be put into our newsletter.  The other chapter members get an opportunity to feel your pride in the units and the outstanding youth that you’ve met.  Thanks Bill Mehard, Tommy Mathews, Ernie Brockman, Beverly Brockman, Jim Natividad, Earl Pinckney, Don Lovelace, and Rudy Smart.

(A special thanks to those who did extras when some schools changed there schedules!)

A big shout out goes to Steve Rowe for getting the certificates printed and the awards packets delivered.  You da man!

Next year help me achieve the goal of having a different presenter at each of the ceremonies You wouldn’t regret it - just ask one of those who did it this year! The few hours that you spend will touch the lives of the cadets and midshipmen of our local schools.
