Colleton County Navy JROTC Awards Ceremony

I attended the 2015 Colleton County JROTC Awards Program on Tuesday, the 21st of April. Having attended in previous years, I was aware of their traditional format, but was pleased that their Unarmed and Armed Drill Teams performed to perfection. They were extremely good in past years, but outdid any past presentations.

A new Naval Science Instructor, Pernell A. Battle, introduced himself to me prior to the proceedings, and as usual, I was welcomed by the rest of the staff. The graduating seniors put together gifts for the staff, to include the secretarial staff, a very nice gesture.

As Usual, the MOAA Awards were the last awards to be presented, But both cadets expressed their appreciation for the recognition. The MOAA Medal was awarded to Cadet Ensign Kirten Linz. The Outstanding Cadet Award & $50 check was awarded to Cadet Commander Christian Beasley

As a bit of a surprise, Cadet Ensign Kirsten Linz was appointed as the new Battalion Commander. So we awarded the correct person!
